3.6.4 Security

Use the Security menu to set system and user password.

Description

Administrator Password

This setting specifies a password that must be entered to access the

BIOS Setup Utility. If only the Administrator's password is set, then

this only limits access to the BIOS setup program and is only asked

for when entering the BIOS setup program. By default, no password

is specified.

User Password

This setting specifies a password that must be entered to access the

BIOS Setup Utility or to boot the system. If only the User's password

is set, then this is a power on password and must be entered to boot

or enter the BIOS setup program. In the BIOS setup program, the

User will have Administrator rights. By default, no password is

specified.
